The DutchCham Tax committee organises again a round table discussion to address some of the recent developments.
The following topics will be reviewed at this round table breakfast on November 6th:
1) The Dutch Budget Day
As Dutch political tradition has it, on the third Tuesday of September, the legislative proposals for tax related matters were sent to Parliament. The proposals include the implementation of the EU Anti Tax Avoidance Directive and the new Dutch plans for withholding tax reform (including the abolishment of the Dutch dividend tax). This will all have an impact on Dutch companies investing in Hong Kong, and obviously also Hong Kong companies investing into or through Europe. The key aspects will be covered during a presentation, after which the audience is invited to share their views on these developments.
2) Taxing the Digital Economy
We all have heard about it, but what exactly is it? What is the size of the Digital Economy and also, how complex is the Digital Economy? Both the OECD and the EU have been trying to explain these questions as well in their respective reports. During the presentation, some interesting facts that follow from those reports will be shared including the EU proposed taxing measurements. Last but not least, will the EU proposals survive?
This round table seminar will be closed with a Q&A session whereby participants are encouraged to ask questions, raise concerns or share other tax developments.
All members of Dutch Tax Platform are invited to join us at this breakfast round table discussion free of charge!
