Black-outs in China and India, global supply chains being disrupted by power shortages, and panic buying of gas in Europe…never since 1974 has there been such a shortage of energy; the global energy markets are truly on fire. This breakfast event will provide background and context to the current crisis, which is heavily impacting both consumers and businesses around the world. The causes behind the global surge in energy prices will be reviewed, including views on what to expect in the longer term, what the impact will be in China in the next 12 months and how this creates opportunities for hydrogen.

This session will be conducted by Michiel Mak, CEO at EMCS Limited in Hong Kong and Operating Partner with Prostar Capital. Michiel is a Senior Energy Executive with extensive experience in Asia in the fields of Gas, LNG, renewables and the energy transition. In addition, Michiel is the Vice-Chairman of the Dutch Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong and Chairman of the China Committee.
