This summer, May Yeung curates a sculpture exhibition for Dutch Days in Hong Kong with the theme of sustainable urban development. The exhibition is supported by Netherlands Consulate General in Hong Kong and Macao, Asia Art Hong Kong, Dutch Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong, Hong Kong Design Centre and Wofoo Social Enterprises. The exhibition will take place on 4th - 19th August 2022 at Kornhill Plaza and Kornhill Apartments, promoting ocean and water resource conservation, advocating culture exchange. The exhibition will allow the public to experience and celebrate the summer by fusing the cultures of Orient and the Western world.

The Dutch Chamber of Commerce would like to invite our members for a private guided tour and a paper craft workshop experience on the 11th of August. A ticket includes admission for 2 children.

Inspired from the Dutch state-of-the-art water management system and sustainable urban development, the sculpture Blossom Love uses wood to envision iconic Dutch tulips, houseboat and sea waves to symbolise the Dutch spirit in tackling the challenges of water and to promote urban resilience. The artist specially combines Hong Kong's commonly found Golden Birdwing butterfly in the art piece to demonstrate the similarity between Hong Kong and the Netherlands and wish the two places can both build a liveable city in solidarity.

The event also invited different young and experienced artists to join together to create a photo exhibition on the theme of Hong Kong's coastline, curated by students from the Hong Kong Design Institute (HKDI), to echo with the sculpture, empowering young generations to unleash their creativity and nurture social harmony with diversity inclusion. Art of MY Family will also arrange paper craft workshops using recycled materials for members from Dutch Chamber of Commerce in HK, nearby residents, as well as Wofoo Social Enterprises and Jockey Club Lei Yue Mun Plus, local charities that promote youth development.
