As a consequence of the demonstrations & political unrest in Hong Kong of the last few days, the main speakers of the Alibaba's e-Gateway to Europe Forum are no longer able to travel to Hong Kong for the time being.

The e-commerce revolution, from a B2B perspective, allows exporters, especially SME's, an access to markets that were the privilege of multinationals before. Electronic World Trade Platform (eWTP) just opened its first European hub in Belgium. This e-gateway connects Europe and China, both ways, bringing new markets within reach and will also create potential opportunities for Dutch SMEs to reap the benefits of global cross-border trade.

A key part of the eWTP agreement is the building of logistics infrastructure to support cross-border trade for SMEs. To that end, Alibaba-owned Cainiao Smart Logistics Network signed a deal with Belgium's Liege Airport to build a 220,000-square-meter shipping hub at the airport. With an initial investment of 75 million euros, the first phase of hub is expected to begin operations in early 2021.

This event will feature speakers from Alibaba, Liège Airport, Cianiao & the Customs department and will inform participants on the latest developments of the eWTP agreement. Before a networking reception will kick off, our speakers will answer questions from the audience in a panel discussion. With multiple industry experts attending, this promises to be a not-to-miss event for all!
