The DutchCham Finance Committee presents the economic and financial outlook 2021 and beyond!

In the past year, as the world struggled to contain the COVID-19 pandemic, governments proceeded with large monetary and economic stimulus to keep their economies afloat. At the start of the new year, 2021, with vaccinations becoming available, it is time to look beyond the pandemic and take stock of the current worldwide economy. Speculation abound that the end of the pandemic and continued global monetary stimulus will kick of a decade of growth: a new "Roaring 20's". Indeed, it is expected that at least Asia, including China, will outperform. At the same time, this preliminary positive scenario seems far from certain. From problems in the vaccination process to geopolitical frictions, the stakes remain high for 2021.

This and more will be reviewed by Alicia García Herrero, APAC Chief Economist at Natixis and Harmen Overdijk, Founding Partner at The Capital Company.

Where Alicia will focus on the macro-economic outlook and developments in the region, Harmen will delve deeper into the likely impact of the monetary and economic stimulus on the global economy, in particular its implications for equity markets, commodities and crypto currencies. At the end, there will be ample time for Q&A and discussion.

Bram van den Bergh, Head of Asset and Liability Management for Asia Pacific at Natixis, will be your moderator.
