"Unconscious bias" wine tasting is a fun way to dispel some long held beliefs and identify your unconscious bias. Who doesn't sometimes think "all Riesling is too sweet, all Chardonnay too oaky or every Beaujolais too Nouveau to me.

According to the NeuroLeadership Institute: "if you have a brain, you're biased". Research showed that people in supermarkets buy more French wine when French music is playing, and more German wine when the music is German. It's not a matter of intent or awareness, it's just how the brain works: it takes tons of quick-and-dirty shortcuts everyday.

"The brain's interpretation of aroma and bouquet is based on far more than the chemicals found in the drink". For this same reason people struggle with assessing each other as well. Everyone holds biases that are automatic and unintentional, yet influencing our behaviour and daily life.

Face your own unconscious bias at our upcoming wine tasting event!
