The DutchCham Finance Committee presents the global and regional outlook 2019!

What do we have to take into account to make the right decisions? The US economy is on course to slow down in 2019, but how much, and what does it mean for the world? How much will interest rates be raised by the US Federal Reserve and other key central banks and how will this impact other major currencies and the global economy? Will emerging market economies be able to withstand higher US interest rates and/or more turmoil?

This and more will be reviewed by APAC Chief Economists Louis Kuijs from Oxford Economics and Alicia García Herrero from Natixis. You might have seen them already on business news channels Bloomberg or CNBC, and now they are presenting their views at the DutchCham outlook 2019 seminar.

Where Louis will focus on the global outlook and developments in US policy, Alicia will zoom in on Asia and the impact of the US - China strategic competition in particular. They might not always agree with each other, which can lead to an interesting Q&A discussion at the end.

Hugo Sterkenburgh, Head of the International Desk at ABN AMRO, will be your moderator this evening.
