Caspar ter Horst

Co-founder and Managing Director of ProductIP (HK) Ltd.

Caspar studied construction mechanics and production technology before beginning a career at KEMA (now DEKRA). Initially working within the engineering division, he later transitioned to the testing, inspection, and certification department.

From there, Caspar moved to the manufacturing side, gaining hands-on experience in OEM mass production, QA/QC, certification, and shifting EU customer production to China. Over eight years at All-Line Inc. (operating in Taiwan, Hong Kong, China (Ningbo, Dongguan), and the USA), he worked closely with leading global brands. Experiencing Ningbo in 1996, a vastly different world at the time, was eye-opening. Witnessing China’s transformation firsthand and maintaining a professional presence in both China and Europe has been a privilege.

In 2004, Caspar founded Asia-XL, aiming to use 3D animations for retail and trade to reduce distribution costs and accelerate time-to-market. With a production site in Beijing and HQ in the Netherlands, the venture was a rewarding experience. However, in 2008, a new idea emerged — ProductIP — which quickly became his primary focus, marking an exciting new chapter.
