Bert has been based in Hong Kong since 2012.

Originally from Groningen in the north of The Netherlands, Bert founded his first firm, Architectuur Studio Sitec, in 1993 in the medieval city of Zwolle, chosen for its predicted growth potential. He established a new practice in Hong Kong to expand on his Dutch building philosophy in 2013. Both companies now operate as one, under the company name STUDIO SITEC.
